Yoga TherapyOver 100 billion dollars are spent annually in the United States on back pain. In addition to being the most common job-related disability, back pain is the second highest cause for visits to primary care doctors. Luckily, Yoga is a research-based, effective treatment to such pain.

These results were found in a study conducted by the National Institutes of Health (NIH), and the yoga protocol in that study was designed by Gary Kraftsow using the gentle approach of Viniyoga.  This methodology will be used as the basis to learn and experience specific therapeutic sequences for the lower back, sacrum and hips, as well as the upper back, neck and shoulders, and is designed for therapists, teachers, and individuals who suffer from any type of back, neck, or shoulder pain.  Gary will present the yoga therapy perspective, means and methods for working with chronic and acute structural conditions including: assessment, goals, treatment strategy and application.
